FiremanBrand was launched in South Africa in 2004 and is a registered Trademark brand. I Have been working part time since this business was launched and started working fulltime in FiremanBrand™ since 2014 and became the sole proprietor in 2019. We introduced probably the best welding blanket for the panel beating industry and as a fire blanket in the hospitality industry in hotels and restaurant kitchens. My background is operations management in the clothing industry and then a full-time furniture, auto, maritime upholsterer . When I started in the fire blanket industry, I have come across many different heat-resistant fabrics and we are now able to source materials operating up to 1600degrees. When joining FiremanBrand™ full time I have used my previous years of experience of fabrics, pattern making and sewing skills to make welding/fire curtains, exhaust covers for heavy earth moving vehicles which over heats and can end up catching on fire, special fire proof covers made specially for clients needs and protective clothing for heavy welding industry and heat resistant covers for industrial machinery in many industries. FiremanBrand™ can now manufacture heat protective covers and curtains which can handle up to 1600 degrees and operating temperature of 800 degrees, we supply and manufacture them to clients specifications.
FiremanBrand PTY (LTD) initially introduced The FiremanBrand™ welding blanket for the auto panel beating industry as a welding blanket in 2004 but have found it useful in the mining industry, heavy welding procedures, engineering industry, marine industry, to protect expensive machinery during major maintenance shutdowns from grinding sparks and welding splatter overhead and thermal insulation covers. It is ideal as a fire blanket that can be used to extinguish accidental fires in kitchens, food trucks, restaurants, hotels and fire hazardous workshops. Helpful to have and use around your fireplace or braai areas to prevent charcoal and embers from falling on the floor and accidentally causing a fire. Used as a fireproof mat on the floor of your fireplace or gas heater to protect your wooden floors, carpets, surrounding glass installed near your fireplace and also drape on furniture close to your fireplace. Imagine having a wooden deck or green lawn on your property and you cannot use your portable braai, the FiremanBrand Welding/Fire Blanket can be used underneath your portable braai to protect your wooden deck and grass lawn from getting damaged from falling charcoal and embers.

Works so well! Best purchase to keep your furniture safe
Perfect for the reason I purchased , to protect a carpet in front of a fireplace from bring burned by loose coals and cinders
I bought this to protect my leather couch from our fireplace. Unfortunately the couch cannot be moved and we haven't been able to use the fireplace since we moved in. Now every evening I sit with a glorious fire on these chilly Cape Town evening's. Not it's intended use but definitely worth it!
• I bought this to protect the far side of the treadmill from the heat from a nearby fireplace. The thermometer reading under the blanket was 17 C , and 43 C on the outside after 2 hours of testing. I know this is not what it was designed for, but it is a very useful alternative use.
